The permaculture principles that guide my research and an audit of the skills seedlings needed for my academic research

1.     Observe and interact: Propagate the seed of collective creativity through curiosity and transformative imagination

2.     Catch and store energy: Create a safe space where emotions are validated, social hierarchies are dismantled, and agency can flourish for yourself and others.

3.     Obtain Yield: Harvest stories and allow children to tell their truth and find their call to action. Will the project yield a return, and if so, what will it be?

4.     Self-regulate and accept feedback. Massage the grassroots connection with the community by allowing action through activism and art.

5. Use and value renewable resources: Water the classroom with pedagogies of empowerment, constructive hope, and collective action

6.     Produce no waste: Recycle resilience, reuse past lessons, re-purpose learnings, and restore faith in our young people. Community collaboration and resilience are crucial for the success of grassroots actions.

7.     Design from patterns to detail: Sun big picture with creative and embodied participatory pedagogies and refine scope using art as a tool for critical dialogue

8. Integrate instead of segregate: Fertilise by decolonising the concept of climate for cross-cultural connection. Foster connections between elements so they support one another.
